I AM ENOUGH. This has been a work in progress for me and if I’m honest with you, I continue to progress, evolve, and learn just like you. I guess, to be frank, we are all doing our best on this journey we call life together having our good and bad days.
What I want to share here is we should be working on having these affirmations etched into every cell of our being knowing that we are enough today… everyday.
Understanding you are enough means you try your best at everything you do no matter how big or small it may be and rest knowing no matter the outcome of the day you have tried. Being enough is not comparing yourself to other people’s success, and knowing you cannot judge another person’s quality of life just by their social media account. We all have problems and it’s so easy to see someone posting a happy picture for us to tumble down a hole of self-pity and despair. I am enough is when you are your biggest cheerleader and the need for other people’s approval is no longer needed as you know your self-worth. I use to always rely on other people’s opinion or suggestions to make up my mind about decisions big and small in my life because I didn’t think I was wise enough to make good decisions, OMG can you believe the self-sabotage I was inflicting on my mental health? Since leading a life of spirituality I’ve learnt to trust myself and my intuition to guide my life and the choices I make every day. If it feels right I act upon it and if it doesn’t I don’t, simple as is. I feel the more you utilize your intuitive muscles they become stronger.
The feeling of empowerment and confidence to not only say these 3 words but also to believe it with all my heart took practice. There have been many tips on the internet on how to cultivate these feelings of self-worth but I believe you need to try different practices to find what feels good and natural to you as an individual.
Tips to reach I Am Enough today:
Affirmations you recite daily or as Louise Hay’s book Mirror Work suggests: you look into the mirror and recite affirmations of self-love directed to yourself. Or consider purchasing a deck of confirmation cards you feel drawn to, there are so many great ones on the market. Pulling an affirmation card when you’re feeling low just may be the perfect Universal guidance you need.
Daily meditation to clear out old limiting subconscious beliefs- this occurs through the practice of detaching your thoughts from your physical self - once you can catch yourself thinking thoughts as a third person, you know you have made tremendous progress
Journalling your feelings. This has been very effective for me. When you have lots of thoughts in your head and especially the kind which is negative, writing them out is a great way to express your feelings and organize all your emotions through words. It’s the next best thing to having a best friend to vent all your problems to - except this exercise doesn’t rely on another person being by your side. I often will just type out my journaling exercise on a word document- this way I can easily erase my notes if I feel the need to keep them private
Having a great support system in place. Blessed are those who have a circle of friends or family who are positive and uplifting. These supportive people are the ones who you know and trust can always bring a sprinkle of positivity into your day and reminder that you are perfect as you are… You are enough! Seek these people’s company when in need and ensure you reciprocate when they need you. This can simply be a quick phone call or over a lunch date.
Listing your accomplishments…. And lists in general hahaha. I really like this one and saved the best for last. When I’m feeling like I need a pep talk I would sit with a blank sheet of paper and list all my accomplishments. This allows me to physically see tangible proof of how far I’ve come. Actually, a simple task you probably are doing anyway is writing To-do lists, while you're at it draw a little box next to your task, getting the satisfaction of checking off your list feels great and helps you feel on track and on purpose.
Finally, the most important thing is to stay consistent! We are humans and can quickly fall victim to negativity so it's healthy to maintain an uplifting routine which will help you stay high vibe and positive every day.
The suggestions above are really tools I want to share with you to aid you on the path of feeling good about yourself and by no means are they needed to prove your self-worth. It really is an inside job, no amount of journaling or affirmations from the mirror will solve your inner demons if they’re present in you. Only your ability to shift from one negative thought to a positive self-belief thought is what makes all the difference, do it often, moment by moment….. learn to shift your thoughts to an empowering one which serves you… You have the power always to make that choice.
Let me know what you think about these practices and do share anything which works well for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll see you next week!
Sending you all my love,
